Sankranti 2026: Indian Railways Runs Special Trains for Festival Travel
South Central Railway (SCR) is going to facilitate easy travel for the Sankranti vacationers this year by running special trains throughout Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. Running from this side of the country, these trains are going to hit big cities such as Hyderabad, Bengalaru, and finally connect to their listed target destinations, like Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Tirupati, and Vijayawada. The announcement for the launch date of schedule and bookings will be rolled out in the very first week of January '26.
Key stops for special trains:
Passengers expect more destinations like Gudivada, Vijayawada, Khammam, Dornakal, and others. The extended possibility includes stops at Mahabubabad, Warangal, Jammikunta, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Lingampet Jagtial, Mortad, Armur, Nizamabad, Basar, Dharmabad, Mudkhed, Nanded, Poorna, Parbhani, Manwat Road, Partur, Jalna, C Sambhajinagar, Lasur, Rotegaon, Nagarsol, Manmad, Bhusawal, Khandwa, Itarsi, Bhopal, Ujjain, to mention just a fragment of a few other stations currently listed.
Extended special train dates:
- Train No: 07041-Secunderabad-Anakapalle Special running on Sundays(4th, 11th, 18th) of January.
- Train No: 07042-Anakapalli-Secunderabad Special running on Mondays (5th,12th,19th) of January.
- Train No: 07075-Hyderabad-Gorakhpur Special running on Fridays (9th, 16th, 23rd) of January.
- Train No: 07076-Gorakhpur-Hyderabad Special runs on Sundays (11th, 18th, 25th) of January.
Other Special Trains:
- Train No: 07274-Kakinada Machilipatanam-Ajmer Special is departing from Machilipatnam on Sunday the 21st of December.
- Train No: 07275-Ajmer-Kakinada Machilipatnam Special is departing from the Ajmer Junction on Sunday the 28th of December.
These special trains are run because it is helpful to the passengers during festive seasons, SCR sources have stated. If more trains become necessary in changing the demand to elevate comfort of Sankranti traveling people, some may get introduced too.
